We are live in our beloved barn and on Zoom!

We are continuing our in-person/Zoom worship services every Sunday. Except on the one Sunday a month when Pastor Christine is off, all our Sunday morning services are in person and on Zoom.  The hybrid service begins at 10:30 am, at 5645 Rocklin Rd. The Zoom link is below.

Here are the zoom gatherings Sierra Christian Church has scheduled for December, 2024

–Saturday, December 7 is when the Men’s Breakfast Fellowship next gathers at 9 am on Zoom. The January fellowship will be on Saturday, January 4.  Any and all men who look for laughter, serious and light dialogue with other men are invited and encouraged to log in and join us. 

–Books that Bind, meets next on Thursday, December 19 , at 6:30 pm.  We are reading “Mad Honey,” by Jodi Picoult. We meet over Zoom.  Come join us! 

–A Community Labyrinth Walk is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, at 12 noon.  Come celebrate the Winter Solstice with us, renew and rejuvenate. 

A Labyrinth is a divine imprint found in many cultural and religious traditions in various forms around the world.  It provides a prescribed path for contemplative meditation and movement toward the center – of oneself, the Universe, or The Divine.  The Path includes Remembering, Releasing, Receiving, and Resolve.

COMMUNITY LABYRINTH WALK “Celebrate the Season of Lent and the Spring Equinox” Saturday, March 20, 2021 Welcoming the First Day of Spring 12:30 p.m. The Labyrinth is a divine imprint found in all religious traditions in various forms around the world. Our labyrinth at Sierra Christian is no different. By walking it, a design first found on the floor of the Catholic Cathedral at Chartres France around 1220, we are rediscovering a long-forgotten mystical tradition that is being reborn. The temples in Jerusalem and Chartres open to the east, so as to receive the light of the rising sun. Our Sierra Labyrinth opens to the southwest, so that we may return to the world, enlightened.

Our Community Garden is now the community of life garden

The Sierra Christian campus is open to all. Our 25-plot Community Of Life GardeN is an organic venture with volunteers running the show, with both in-ground and raised-bed plots available for an annual use fee of $30 per plot. Four of the in-ground plots are planted and tended by volunteers who harvest for local agencies and families. A special blessing is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 at 9 am. The Community of Life Garden volunteers meet Mondays at 9 am on our Zoom site. Interested? Join us!

We are Young & Old

Children’s Hour is when Pastor Christine gets down on the floor with the kids and talks with them about the day’s lesson, or any other thing that matters, from sharing, to kindness, to the joys of a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, to the healing properties of a good belly laugh, and to the great rewards we receive when we are kind to one another. Every Sunday the children are reminded how vital they are, how much they matter.

Sierra Christian Church, a Disciples of Christ congregation located a stones throw from Sierra College in Loomis, California,  is a progressive, welcoming, and nurturing congregation, featuring the musical gifts of Bob Wyrick, and congregants from all walks of life, in different places in their lives, growing and learning together, deepening their understanding of, and relationship with, God, and each other.  Come worship with us.  Have fun with us!  All are welcome.  We are Open and Affirming.
